Who We Are
In the Spring of 2007, Big 4 Development began constructing a 6,000 square foot log home in the mountains above Midway, Utah. The site was rugged and had limited access. Most builders would not even consider building in such a remote location. Because of its 8,000 foot elevation, the building season was short and the snow came early and often. Great creativity was required to get supplies and workers to the site due to the terrain and the weather conditions. Once the foundation was laid, the timber structure of the log home was set and the home was enclosed.
Finally, all of the finishing steps were completed through great attention to detail and even a little humor when things got tough. This magnificent log home stands atop a mountain range looking over the snow capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains and the Wasatch Valleys. It is a place for family gatherings, retreats and where memories are built for a lifetime.
In 2010, the same customer chose to move their family to the Wasatch Valley and to build on their newly purchased 30 acres of land. Their dream home was planned to be a 25,000 square foot, plantation style home with covered porches and 30 foot columns surrounding the home. Included in the plans were custom features such as: a 22 foot stained glass dome; indoor spa and hot tub; water wall feature; sauna and steam room; golf simulator; home theater; complete home automation; elevator; and a 1,200 square foot indoor pool.
Plans were drawn and engineered to the exact specifications of our customer. When the time came for a builder to be selected, there was no question in their minds that Big 4 Development was their builder of choice. We had proven that we could handle any challenge during the building process and that we could build a home that would match their grand vision and stand the test of time.
